Types of Facial Skin

Nowadays it is not a difficult to nurture the facial skin or to take a better care of your facial skin. There are lots and many cosmetic products available in the market that can enhance your facial beauty. But to carry out proper treatment it's more important for a person to understand their skin type rather than knowing pros and cons of all the cosmetic products. We have, therefore, provided this section, especially, for those who are really confused about their skin type or have no clue about it.

According to the texture of the skin, we have categorized 6 types of facial skin as:

Normal skin
A normal skin is a moist skin. It is neither dry nor greasy or oily. It has a fine and even texture reflecting a proper balance of moisture and oil. The pores on the skin are very fine and this type of skin doesn't develop any spots or blemishes.
Normal skin looks clear and it requires a gentle treatment.

Dry skin
A person develops a dry skin due to insufficiency of sebum that is produced by sebaceous glands. This type of skin does not retain moisture and often causes problems during the cold weather. Dry skin tends to flake and it ages faster than any other type of skin. It is also prone to wrinkles and requires constant protection.
A person with a dry skin should use a good moisturizer in the day and apply an effective cream at nights.

Oily skin
A person develops an oily skin due to over secretion of sebum that is produced by sebaceous glands. This type of skin never appears to be clear as it is easily prone to black heads, white heads, pimples, etc.
Oily skin requires to be cleansed thoroughly.

Combination skin
Combination skin is a commonly found skin type. It is a mixture or a combination of both oily and dry skin. A person with this type of skin has a dry skin around the eyes, the mouth and the cheeks. Whereas oily or greasy skin is found on the forehead, nose and chin. These parts are also known as t-zone.
A person with a combination type of skin should treat the facial areas accordingly - i.e., t-zone as per the oily skin and dry areas as per the dry skin.

Sensitive skin
This type of skin is very sensitive to changes. It has a fine texture.
